With 20 seconds left, Kobe Bryant nailed the go-ahead 3-pointer to push the Los Angeles Lakers to a 88-85 win over the New Orleans Hornets.
For 3 quarters, Bryant was having one of the worst shooting nights of his career, misfiring on all 15 of his shot attempts. In the 4th quarter, Bryant returned from the bench with just under 8 minutes remaining and put on a signature performance, scoring 11 points on 3-6 shooting to close out the Hornets.
The Lakers also received big contributions from Pau Gasol (21 points and 11 rebounds), Andrew Bynum (19 points and 10 rebounds), and Ramon Sessions (10 points and 10 assists).
With the win, the Lakers move their record to 32-20 and maintain a 1.5 game lead over the Los Angeles Clippers in the Pacific Division.
The undermanned Hornets, playing without Trevor Ariza, Chris Kaman, Carl Landry, and Emeka Okafor, dropped to 13-39.
