The result was over 25 million people watching it, talking about it, amazed by it. Completely unexpected.
Over the past several months, Kobe has had the opportunity to temporarily own an Aston Martin of his choosing. However, the consumer already understands the connection and is just waiting for us to give them a piece of the dream.
As part of our mission to empower basketball to the Los Angeles consumer, NIKE West Basketball has recently committed to giving/raising $256k to LAUSD to Save Basketball in Los Angeles.
LAUSD recently reported a shortage of funds for sports programs in Los Angeles. Without private donations, these sports would be cancelled. The $256k shortfall in basketball was for the stipends that pay the coaches for their involvement.
NIKE’s solution is not to just give money, but to raise awareness and promote programs for the schools to be able to generate their own funds to maintain basketball and other sports programs for its’ students.
All of the proceeds raised from the sale of the Kobe *Aston Martin Collection will be applied to this $256k commitment to Save Basketball in Los Angeles.
