With the Lakers all geared up and getting ready for the playoffs, they gained a 95-89 victory over the Nuggets in todays game at Staples Center.
This game was a real treat, being that both teams had their regular starting lineups intact to play eachother for the first time this season.
“It was nice to be in somewhat of a pressure-cooker,” Bryant said. “It’s been two years now where we’ve beaten them in the postseason, so I’m sure they’re fed up. They played with a lot of energy and intensity, and we had to step up against them. It was a playoff type of intensity.”
Odom had 20 points and 12 rebounds, which included the nine and eight in the fourth quarter, allowing the Lakers to comeback from being down by 11 in the thrid quarter.
“Even in the second half, we were down 11, I think. We made some adjustments. We were able to get back into the game. That’s a pretty tough team. They play hard and push us to the limit.”
Artest had 17 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, and 6 steals! He definitely had one of the best games of the season with his defense on Carmelo.
“He earned his money tonight,” Bryant said. “That’s what he’s here for, is to defend and make life uncomfortable for the opposing scoring players. He just did a fantastic job.”
