In support of World AIDS Day Kobe is participating in the Nike(Red) partnership to “Lace Up. Save Lives”.

During tonight’s game versus the New Orleans Hornets, Kobe will sport red laces in his game shoes. The laces are part of the Nike(Red) initiative fund raising effort to help leverage the power of sport to fight HIV/ AIDS in Africa.

The Nike(Red) laces are available at, Nike store locations, and key retailers for purchase. 100% of the proceeds will be split equally between the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, which funds AIDS programs that provide medicine for those living with HIV, and Nike football-based community initiative that deliver education and understanding around HIV/AIDS prevention.

Kobe will sign his game shoes from tonight’s game and donate them for auction, with the proceeds going to benefit these two great organizations.
